"Our editorial assistant Teresa Sousa is tickled pink with the personalized Blanket Full of Love book for her daughter Hailey. Celebs such as Gwyneth Paltrow coo over these Canadian-made hardcover books, too. Blanket Full of Love is a keepsake storybook created by a Canadian mom that you can customize for your child. You write the dedication, provide personal information about your little one and pick from among 42 sets of illustrations."

'Oscar Baby Loot'

"Forget about Best Actor or Best Picture. The biggest buzz over tomorrow's Academy Awards is the loot for celebrity moms.

This year, there is also the first "Pre-Oscar Gift Basket for Babies and Big Kids of Celebrities," put together by well-known celebrity stylist Jayneoni.

Calgary-based Kim Freeman of Starrytime Keepsakes (www.starrytime.com), who produces a personalized children's book, Blanket Full of Love, was asked to be included in Jayneoni's Back-to-School gift basket for celebrities last September. "You don't really know who gets your product until you get a thank-you note," says Freeman. She received thank-you cards from both Paltrow and Brooke Shields afterward. "It's completely surreal to get thank-you cards from them. I couldn't even function for a day and a half."

And, yes, business did go up. Along with numerous others, Shields is now a regular customer of Starrytime. For moms who own businesses, it really is thrilling just to be nominated."

Starrytime’s Personalized Story Book and Blanket: the ideal baby gift

"I am totally impressed with Starrytime. If you need a gorgeous gift for a new baby, first birthday gift, Christening or Christmas gift, order the book and blanket gift set from Starrytime. Starrytime even allows you to create a dedication page at the beginning of the story stating who the gift is from and for what occasion. I had the opportunity to review this gift and I think any parent would love to receive such a beautiful and practical keepsake. This gift set includes an ultra plush blanket and a personalized book. Your child’s name appears in the title along with appearing throughout the touching story about the “Blanket Full of Love.” You can cozy up with the blanket and book at bedtime – while also keeping this book and blanket for years to come as a wonderful memento. The presentation and gift wrap of this deluxe gift set is very classy. Not to mention the gift is so original and one of a kind."

My love is like this blanket, dear,
that covers you tonight.
So if you ever need me near,
just hug your blanket tight.

"If you are looking for that perfect and unique gift for a child, then the Starrytime Blanket Full of Love Book and Blanket Gift Set is what you're looking for. I absolutely adore this sweet and touching keepsake gift set and I know you will, too!

The Blanket Full of Love Custom Book is a beautiful story that features a child's likeness and name on the cover and throughout the book. The story reminds the child of how much they are loved and that they are never alone. The story even takes the child through various milestones and into adulthood where they continue to pass the well-loved blanket onto future generations. The book is 28 pages of gorgeous watercolor illustrations and touching verse and also includes your special dedication page. There is even a sample book to preview.

The Blanket Full of Love Keepsake Blanket is so soft and is embroidered with a heart taken right from the pages of the book. To make the blanket even more special, you can have the child's name embroidered above the heart. My daughter's gift set from Starrytime arrived in a gift box tied with a pretty ribbon and a personalized gift tag. The book and blanket are stunning and will be tucked away in my daughter's keepsake chest as a reminder, through the years, that she is loved always and forever!

Thank you Starrytime for creating such a treasured heirloom!"

"If you are looking for that perfect and unique gift for a new baby check out the Starrytime Keepsakes giftset. "As a parent I feel confident in saying that anyone you buy this gift for is going to love it.

The Blanket Full of Love story is absolutely adorable and incredibly touching. Basically it follows the child’s life, explaining how she will carry the blanket with her for every milestone, until she has her own baby when she can share a piece of her blanket with her own child. I kid you not I was in tears by the end of the book.

This giftset is so cute it’s no wonder that Starrytime Keepsakes has so many celebrity fans, including Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow."

Unique baby gifts leave impression
By Sarah Deveau

"Though kiosks at many malls offer personalized children’s books for under $15, the quality is generally poor, and the story dull. For a book that’s as beautiful as it is heart-warming, Starrytime Books & Keepsakes’ offers a personalized children’s book with stunning watercolour illustrations. “Blanket Full of Love is a touching story about the enduring nature of love for a child. What’s really special about this book is that it features the likeness and name of the child who receives it,” says Freeman. Gift certificates are available for those wanting to purchase the gift before the baby is born."

Best Reading for Parents

"Calgary-based Author Kim Freeman and Illustrator Val Lawton have created a touching story book that is custom-made for a child. It is produced-to-order and features the name, likeness and other personal information about a child or baby, and can be purchased with a beautiful matching keepsake blanket. In the book, an adult wishes that her child's blanket is a reminder, as she grows, of how much she is loved. Blanket Full of Love makes a very special baby, birthday or holiday gift."

"Customization has lost a bit of its "Wow" factor with the advent of readily available tools such as Photoshop, desktop publishing, and printing devices that'll put your picture on anything. It's great, but also tragic in a way. I remember the first time I received a pen with my name engraved on it. I thought it was the greatest thing ever! But it appears our kids will likely grow up thinking it's no big deal to see their name or image in print.

Nonetheless, I found this great book and blanket gift set. The book is titled "Blanket Full of Love" and tells a story of a child growing up with a blanket and how the warmth and comfort it brings symbolizes his parents' love (you can flip through some of the pages on the site). Yeah, real heartstring-tuggin' stuff. But what's really special about this book is that you can customize it with your child's full name so that he/she is the main character in the book. Not only that, you can even customize the appearance of the character in the book to resemble your child (mostly gender, skin and hair color). I imagine the toughest part will be trying to write the dedication (which they'll also print in the book). In spite of what our Governator says, I'm no girlie-man. I watch my share of football, scratch myself occasionally, own my own set of power tools, and I try to abide by the "Man Laws" to the best of my ability. But I can't help but get choked up every time I think of what I would tell my son when he's old enough to read or perhaps when he's reading it after I've passed away. See what I mean?

You can get the book by itself, but really, you should put it together with an actual blanket on which they'll embroider your child's name. All for $100. I think it would make a perfect gift for your baby for any occasion. It's almost as nice as an engraved pen."
